The National Readership Survey

The National Readership Survery (NRS) is a survey used in the UK that randomly selects members of the public and collects information as too what they are reading, this information used to be used in order to classify readers but has gained recognition in being a tool used by many organisations as a form of market research.
The main goal of the NRS is to issue grades that organise people in a demograhic classification system.
The grades are based on the head of the household and are as follows;

   A - Upper middle class - Higher managerial, administrative or professional.
   B - Middle class - Intermediate managerial, administrative or professional.
   C1 - Lower middle class - Supervisory or clerical and junior managerial, administrative or professional.
   C2 - Skilled working class - Skilled manual workers.
   D - Working class - Semi and unskilled manual workers.
E - Those at the lowest levels of subsistence - Casual or lowest grade workers, pensioners and others who depend on the welfare state for their income.
